JALEH NIAZI, MD
Pediatrician
Dr. Jaleh Niazi has lived in the Bay Area for greater than 30 years. She obtained her bachelor's degree in bioengineering at UC Berkeley and M.S. and M.D. degrees from UCB-UCSF Joint Medical Program. Her pediatric residency training was at Children's Hospital Oakland.
She is married and has three wonderful children.

JULISSA HAYA
Nurse Practitioner
Julissa immigrated from Peru to the Bay Area, she is a native Spanish speaker and considers both the Bay and Peru her home. Julissa studied physiology during her undergraduate education at San Francisco State University. Julissa pursued higher education in nursing at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) in which she acquired a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Pediatric Primary Care. Prior to her nursing education, Julissa worked at San Francisco Zuckerberg General Hospital pediatrics’ clinic in clinical research,working alongside different providers, children and their families. Julissa believes that through her work at SF General hospital she found her true passion for pediatrics. She joined the New Day Pediatrics team in May of 2023. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her husband and her two cats (Hendrix and Daphne); she also enjoys baking and traveling.
JAYNE SKINNER
Medical Assistant
Jayne graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Psychobiology and a minor in Theater. After working as a medical assistant at New Day Pediatrics for four years, Jayne was thrilled to be accepted into the UCSF-UC Berkeley Joint Medical Program - the same medical school that Dr. Niazi attended! Jayne is grateful that experience NDP showed her the joys of working with children and families. She plans to go into pediatrics for residency and looks forward to pursuing a career as a pediatrician.
Sakina bAmbot
Medical Assistant
Sakina graduated from Cal with degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology and Interdisciplinary Studies. She enjoys running, reading, and trying new coffee shops. On the weekends, she loves to explore local hiking trails and spend time with her family and friends.
Misha mistry
Medical Assistant
Misha Misty graduated from Cal with a degree in Integrative Biology and a minor in Cal Teach (STEM Education). She is currently pursuing to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the next few years. She likes anything art related, biking, going to concerts, and baking! Misha speaks fluent Gujarati. On weekends, she loves spending time with her cat and exploring the bay!
ZOË CHAN
Medical Assistant
Zoë grew up in the San Diego area and is finishing her degree in bioengineering at Cal. Outside of the clinic, she also spends her time conducting research in a microbiome gene editing lab at Berkeley. In her free time, Zoë enjoys cooking, traveling, and exploring new sunset spots in the Berkeley area.
RIYA MASTER
Medical Assistant
Riya Master graudated from Cal and is now a medical student at UCSF. She is extensively involved in politics and social justice initiatives. Riya enjoys trying different cuisines, listening to live music, and visiting new countries. She is excited to continue exploring the Bay Area next year!
Ainsley TORRES
Medical Assistant
Ainsley grew up in the Bay Area and graduated from UC Berkeley with degrees in Integrative Biology and Public Health, a minor in Child Development, and a Master's in Public Health in Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health. Outside of the clinic, she is involved in public health research and community health volunteering. She loves exploring new cafes, going to concerts, baking, and taking care of her plants!
Paula nordstrom-miranda
Medical Assistant
Paula Nordstrom Miranda graduated from Cal with a degree in English and a minor in Global Public Health and is now a medical student at UCB-UCSF joint medical program. She enjoys working for the Suitcase Clinic and loves to read romance novels. Paula speaks fluent Spanish. She is currently reading "Love and Other Disasters."
RACHELLE KARUNANAYAKE
Medical Assistant
Rachelle is a senior at UC Berkeley completing her BA in Molecular and Cell Biology with a minor in Global Public Health. She is passionate about maternal and child health, and is interested in working in labor and delivery. She loves sketching, trying new foods, and going to the beach!
